Learning about pests, diseases and other coffee crops’ natural enemies along with its control techniques. This is one of the objectives of the Integrated Pests and Diseases Management course, which is being held this week by COOMAP. The course offered to employees, members and their families is taught by Senar Minas/Rural Union of Paraguaçu, and its instructor is André Pimenta Silva.
The class is composed of 12 participants from Paraguaçu and Fama rural neighborhoods. The theoretical classes are held at Dom Bosco Sports Court and the practical part of the course is conducted in a field, where they learn how to carry out pest and disease control surveys through sampling methods. In total, the course lasts for three days (24 hours) and offers, at the end, a participation certificate.
This is another initiative developed by COOMAP on behalf of its members, with the aim of meeting their needs and seeking to improve the quality of the coffee they produce. COOMAP, for 65 years cultivating work, harvesting results.
