COOMAP offered to cooperative members and family members, last week, a course on Post-Harvest Coffee Preparation (Dry processing), taught by Senar Minas/Rural Union of Paraguaçu, by the instructor André Pimenta Silva. The course was held at São Francisco Farm, in Cachoeira neighborhood.
The 16-hour course deals with the importance and factors that contribute to coffee quality, types of classification, defects and their causes, harvest planning, sampling of grain maturation and coffee preparation in the dry processing”, which includes washing, drying on the terrace and storing dried coffee. The course also teaches notions of product traceability. Within the managerial skills, it deals with planning, controling and evaluatiing the work and administration of the patio.
