São Vicente de Paulo home is an entity for caring for the elderly which is located in Paraguaçu, Minas Gerais state. It offers its 65 residents, between 40 and 100 years old, a true familiar environment, always making effort that they’re well treated.
In order to match the solidarity desire, the home direction, with its 28-member staff, tries to develop their work observing the most rightful citizenship, respect and protection rights for the elderly ones who haven’t got their own Family environment.
With this in mind, in 2015 COOMAP established a Project with this entity in order to hire a nutritionist specialized in geriatrics in order to accompany the elderly diet. Since this first project it was necessary to keep the vegetable garden maintenance up to date in order to save resources for not having to buy vegetables for the elderly diet and cultivate these products at the home.
COOMAP sent one of its technicians to analyse the vegetable garden along with the responsible nutritionist.
After the Project conclusion COOMAP started suppling seedlings, seeds and several vegetables. Now the vegetable garden is well treated and produces the necessary food for the elderly.
