COOMAP is holding this Monday and Tuesday, through Senar Minas/Rural Union of Paraguaçu, the Work at Height course, focused on employees from construction sector. Bricklayers and bricklayers assistants are undergoing training, in accordance with Regulatory Standard 35 (NR35), which establishes minimum protection requirements for working at height.
Taught by the instructor Héber Lourival de Melo, the course has theoretical classes that address legislation in general, what working at heights means, how to avoid accidents at work, what is lifeline, personal protective equipment – PPE ( seat belt, helmet, lanyards, types of rope, carabiners and fall arresters), and collective protection equipment – ​​EPC, such as, for example, the guardrail, zebra tape and cerquite mesh.
In the practical part, participants saw, among other situations, the correct and safe use of scaffolding and ladders and how to assemble lifelines. Instructor Héber explains that “all work at height follows three steps: planning, organization and execution, which are fundamental. It is a type of work that is part of our daily lives. Hence the importance of learning techniques for using equipment and conducting the work in a safe way”, he said.
Attentive to learning, the bricklayer’s assistant Alencar Borim recalled that many times people who work at construction sites do not know how to make correct use of all the things being taught in the course. “For me this training is being very good and practical”, he reinforced.
