Last august, 25th 2016 it was held in Mr. Leonardo da Silva’s property a field day to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Balde Cheio Project in Paraguaçu. This farm is the demonstrative area in the before mentioned town. It’s there where the meetings with the project technical staff and the growers involved in the program happen.
Present at the event were Leonado da Silva and André dos Reis Silva, both owners of the demonstrative area, Eduardo de Carvalho Pena, FAEMG vice-president, José Pedro Garcia Reis, Sicoob Credivar President, Walter Miguel Ribeiro, Balde Cheio Project State Coordinator, André Luiz Monteiro and Arthur Chinelato, both Embrapa researchers and the last one is the Balde Cheio Project creator, Tácio Castilho Carneiro, veterinarian responsible for the demonstrative unit, Maurício Salles, Rio de Janeiro state agriculture federation representatives, and several milk producers from southern and southwestern Minas Gerais.
This Project is intended to show improvement possibilities in milk producing properties handling and consequently increase productivity. This work is also directed to recovering soil, its fertility, increasing production and animals silage quantity and quality.
The day before Field Day, August, 24th, 2016, the farmer André Reis da Silva took a part in the 3rd Minas Balde Cheio Growers Meeting in Belo Horizonte – MG, where there was a homage to 12 Balde Cheio producers in Minas Gerais state. André stood out among the best four milk producers and was honored in the event and this featured Paraguaçu in the dairy market. According to Walter Miguel Ribeiro, State Project Coordinator, André has the highest individual milk producing average per cow of all Balde Cheio producers in Minas Gerais state, producing 28 liters of milk per animal per day.
At the same event, in Belo Horizonte, Coomap received a homage as Balde Cheio Project partner entity in its town.
