The 2nd stage of the Vaccination Campaign against Foot-and-Mouth Disease started the 1st, and runs until November 30th. At this stage, bovines and buffaloes aged from zero to 24 months must be vaccinated. Producers request at COOMAP the authorization letter from IMA (Instituto Mineiro de Agropecuária) for purchasing the vaccine and purchase doses to be applied to the animals.
According to the commercial supervisor of COOMAP, Lucas Junqueira, producers must come to COOMAP as soon as possible to guarantee the necessary doses. “The vaccine is mandatory and very important for the health of the animals. So it’s advisable that the producer doesn’t leave it until the last minute”, he said. After vaccination of the herd, producers have until December 10th to declare it officially to IMA.
