From February 1st to 4th at the Armazem neighborhood took place a crochet course. This was possible because of a partnership between COOMAP and SENAR/FAEMG. Ten women participated on the course, which was taught by the instructor Antônia Maria de Rezende, from Belo Horizonte – Minas Gerais. The participants were able to learn basic crochet points using specific needles and lines and also had entrepreneurship notions. According to Antonia, who has been SENAR instructor for 17 years, “this is a social promotion course and it allows the student to make craftworks in order to raise the family income or for the own home use, to give to friends and relatives as gifts”. “Participating in courses and making craftworks is also good for women self-esteem and fight health problems like memory loss and depression”, added Antonia.

The course lasted four days.
