WATER MICROBIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS
Since water is so important for a healthy life, COOMAP decided to analyse water used by our members at their homes. These analyses are intended to determine quality and potability standards so that our member’s families know the quality of the water that gets to their homes and is consumed by them.
The purpose of this project is to diagnose the quality of the water used in farms and, if needed, find solutions to safeguard water its potability, after all it will be consumed the cooperative member’s families.
- Check water microbiological quality from the members’ water consumption areas.
- Provide conditions so that all of our members have drinkable water available for consumption.
- Avoid that our members and their families have any health problems related to water.
WATER QUALITY IMPROVEMENT
The project Water Quality Improvement was thought in consequence of Water Microbiological Analyses that were made in farms belonging to COOMAP members. The results showed dissatisfactory numbers.
Water is the most precious good to humankind, it’s an essential life source to all beings. Thus, it must be consumed in its purest state because if polluted it can cause diseases like infections, worms and even death.
This project aims to improve the quality of the water consumed by our members and their families. This is made by installing filters and chlorinators in order to purify the water that their houses are supplied with.
WATER SOURCES RECOVERY
Nowadays public health service is concerned with the quality of the water that supplies houses cities and towns, but related to rural areas nothing has been done. Consequently, growers are responsible for water finding and maintenance. In most of the cases, the methods used do not ensure water quality, especially when it comes to family farmers. Thus, projects like this are important to safeguard water sources, fountains and the quality of the water made available to the farmers.
After analyzing the water consumed in farms, the goal is to recover water sources in the properties that need it. This is done by seeking alternatives that are able to guarantee the quality of the water.
